Love Death + Robots — title animation

Elastic's title animation for Love Death + Robots deliberately strips motion design back to its craft origins. Black and white, hand-drawn line quality, pegbar registration — the sequence references the physical mechanics of traditional animation rather than hiding them.

This is a conscious counter-statement to the high-fidelity CGI of the episodes themselves. The titles say: before all of this, there was someone drawing on paper. The simplicity is the message.

The timing is loose and intentionally imperfect — frames hold slightly too long, movements land slightly off. These are not mistakes. They are the qualities that make hand-drawn animation feel alive, preserved here in a digital context.
