Directed by Basel-based filmmaker and motion artist Dirk Koy, the video for Yello's Out of Sight subjects the two band members to continuous geometric distortion, stretching and warping their bodies in sync with the track's rhythmic structure. The transformation is the content.
Koy's approach treats people and objects recorded in the real world as raw material for procedural manipulation, their familiar forms made strange through precise digital intervention. Motion design applied to the human figure as subject, extending the vocabulary of what the discipline can address.
